[A] Our backup system is designed primarily for fast recovery in the event of any data storage failures on our own servers. If the client desires to restore a specific file he have deleted manually, we will try to restore requested file from our backups for additional fee. [Q] Who is responsible for registering/transferring my domain? [A] If you have registered your domain earlier then your're responsible for configuring your registrar with our name servers. If you require an assistance, out support team can help you with this process. You can also ask us to find and register an appropriate domain for your site. [Q] What makes your shared hosting secure? [A] All servers at Folder Hosting are configured with suExec and suPHP thus all your scripts will be executed under your user permissions only. In such design even if someone's account is cracked or stolen then it will affect that account only. [Q] What is suPHP? [A] suPHP is a tool for executing PHP scripts with the permissions of their owners. It also allows to specify separate configuration files for different users. [Q] What permissions should I give to my files/directories? [A] The most preferable permissions are the following: for directories - 0750 (rwxr-x---) for read-only files - 0440 (r--r-----) for read/write files - 0640 (rw-r-----) for cgi scripts - 0550 (r-xr-x---) [Q] Do you have a firewall? [A] We have two firewalls: 1) the hardware firewall on our ISP allowing just certain types of incoming connections 2) the iptables configured against scanning attempts, DoS and some types of DDoS attacks [Q] How do you track possible hacker attaks? [A] We have two intrusion detection systems, which run in the background and examine LOG files of web/ftp/mail servers & firewall. When some suspicious event is detected the system sends an alert to the support team. Each alert is thoroughly examined and needed actions are taken. |

[A] You can request the following changes for your account: 1) Add/Remove a new site (the maximum number of allowed sites per account is defined in purchased hosting plan) 2) Add/Remove a new domain alias to existing site (the maximum number of allowed aliases per account is defined in purchased hosting plan) 3) Add/Remove a new directory alias 4) Specify a page for any http error 5) Enable/Disable ftp access to any web-directory 6) Enable/Disable ftp anonymous directory 7) Add/Remove a new e-mail domain 8) Add/Remove a new e-mail account 9) Add/Remove a new MySQL database [Q] Why my changes are not applied immediately? [A] For security reasons any access to low-level configuration settings is prohibited for all web-scripts.
